Recording and Publishing
• The College owns the intellectual property in the content of lectures and other teaching sessions. Recordings are covered by the College’s  Intellectual Property policy.
• Recordings will not be initiated without prior consent from the individual lecturer being recorded.
• It is the responsibility of the module coordinator to advise students that they may inadvertently be recorded. If this message has been stated clearly, students who subsequently ask questions may be deemed to have consented to being recorded.
• Lecture Capture enabled classrooms will be identified with signage informing students that lectures delivered have the potential to be recorded for the purposes of teaching and learning.
• Staff who wish to record guest speakers must ensure that they have obtained agreement from the speaker(s) in advance and have written consent by way of a consent form.
Consent forms are available by contacting:
Quinn - business.elearning@ucd.ie | Smurfit -  iltg@ucd.ie
• It is the responsibility of individual members of staff to ensure that the material used for teaching and learning activities is copyright cleared.
• Recordings will not be used for staff performance management purposes.
• The College of Business will continue to evaluate the use of Lecture Capture to ensure that it enhances the student learning experience.

Distribution and Retention of Lecture Recordings
• The majority of recordings of teaching and learning activities will be distributed securely within the LMS Blackboard unless otherwise requested.
• A preview of the lecture recording will be sent to the lecturer for review. Under no circumstances will the recordings be made available automatically unless explicitly directed by the lecturer in question. The lecturer retains the right to make the recording unavailable at any time.
• By default, recordings will be published to the appropriate module in which the live lecture forms part. This has the benefit of providing students with a visually consistent access point to captured lectures across all their modules.
• To assist students with course revision and examination preparation, lecture recordings should remain accessible on the LMS for the duration of the module.
• By default, recordings will be stored on the local Quinn/Smurfit Media Server.
• Recordings of student group presentations for the purposes of assessment will be available to the module coordinator in which the assessment is taking place only.
• In the case of recordings made by guest speakers and those outside the university, a link to the recording will be made available for review before the recordings are distributed.
• Presentations and lectures delivered via live stream are broadcast in real time, however subsequent edits can be made to the recording thereafter.
