A Virtual Classroom tool is a great tool if you or students require a level of flexibility. It provides a great solution to scheduling problems, for when you wish to provide additional sessions, or for when you and your students are in different locations.
The virtual classroom tools available in UCD are Collaborate Ultra and Zoom (see resources below). These tools can provide a social, collaborative and interactive learning experience. Business eLearning have a dedicated media suite where you can host a class. The eLearning suite is sound-proofed and has all the necessary equipment you would require to provide a professional, problem-free, virtual class. We are located on site, so can support you during class.
Collaborate Ultra uses modern web technologies which means you don’t need to install Java or a launcher, while it works in all modern browsers it works best with Google Chrome. Zoom requires users to download a small programme, and works without a browser.
