Classroom Capture

Classroom capture is a two camera recording of a lecture, showcasing the lecture content, student engagement and resulting classroom discussions.

It is useful for recording and archiving the content of important lectures, conferences and seminars.

The use of online lecture recordings as a supplement to traditional lectures is an increasingly popular tool in education. Below is a summary of a series of lectures given by Dr Tom Gormley for the Centre for Distance Learning:

Archive Material

Build a video library of guest lectures, keynote speakers, topics of the day, etc. allowing  powerful UCD academic information to be reused from one year to the next.

Student Participation

Use of lecture capture can increase student participation. Students can review material after class which can contribute to improved comprehension.

Blended Learning

Enhance the traditional classroom and enable students to access their module content with a flexible approach and in a self-paced manner.
